摘要

In article number 1704745, Dong Ding, Ting He, and co-workers from Idaho National Laboratory report a novel 3D architectured anode for direct carbon fuel cells (DCFCs), to allow a solid carbon fuel composite to penetrate and approach the interface of the electrolyte/electrode. This leads to high fuel utilization and excellent performance at 600 °C and below, owing to the direct electrochemical oxidation of the solid carbon rather than its gasification to carbon monoxide as the fuel in state-of-the-art DCFCs.
